I have started to write a narration script for the short film and been inspired creatively by a few things for the film itself:

Mainly I have been looking at the combination of 3D and 2D, and storytelling. Specifically I want my film to start on the Viking ship on the way to Iceland and then go into a lore flashback like Po in Kung Fu Panda remembering his past.

To reduce my amount of work, I have been thinking of the lore flashbacks being in the style of motion comics - only the key frames. So that I can heavily focus on my modeling, sculpting and handpainted texturing over rigging and full animations. For example the first clip from Genshin Impact:

These are all 2D examples, however my short film is 3D. So how can I combine using this style but full 3D renders?
