I know that I am no concept artist and have been putting off this work for a while but as long as it gets my ideas across I figured it doesn’t need to be perfect.
Around the time I was doing animatic pass 2, I decided that later I would split up the stories via colour. These colours would then connect to each other or elements within the design so that there is still flow within the story.
Here is what I decided:

Then I took my storyboard in photoshop and roughed out the colours by changing the hues etc for a guide back in March.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I want the backgrounds to have character. This I have mostly done through texture in the scenes I have been working on. For example this is 5A, Sol and Mani's scene:

The background has added lines that join, connected with spirals to represent their heart and bond and siblings.

I found that there was a lot of negative space, so after some feedback I wanted to push the sun and moon down to fill the space.

Which is now looking like this:

I much prefer this. In reality, both Sol and Mani are to be 3D geometry but I want their forms to continue to be flowing into each other like here.
Making the middle orb (sun/moon) larger also means that it's easier for the transition of two smaller orbs to come out of and trail down. In this scene (5B):

They are chased by the darkness. In the background are the golden lines from Sol and Mani's forms. I believe I can achieve this by using MASH trails I experimented with earlier this semester.
