Animatic Pass 1

Since starting the project in September, most of the research pre-production was finished but I hadn't turned my storyboard into an animatic. I used the Christmas break to create the first pass and I had a friend record a narration so that I was able to time the visuals to it.

After presenting the animatic to the class, I got helpful feedback with emphasis on needing to look more at motion graphics so that the viewers don’t get bored as my animation style is that of motion comics. I need to work on transitions. It was also said that the camera angles were also making it too flat as they were all stationed at the front. Susan sent a short film

that had good transitions that helped me start thinking about ideas:

Before semester 1 ended. I did all the storyboards in one sitting and through values because that is the way I learnt in undergrad but rushed scene 10 and 11 so the values are terrible. I first fixed this and then found more reference images and videos, collecting them on my Pinterest and YouTube playlist. I then went back to my notebook to sketch out transition ideas.
