Finally, the narrative voice has been changed from American to Norwegian. I managed to record my mums’ husbands Norwegian voice on returning to Scotland after a trip there. Though not Icelandic to match the film content, the Scandinavian accent grounds the story more and suits the themes. The accent is strong, so I added subtitles to the film too. This allows for more inclusivity also.
The trip to Norway itself was a good chance to get away from a laptop, busy city life and be relaxed in nature. Purposely bringing no film material to force myself into taking a break.
Norway provided good landscape references for my film too, so took many photos. I was surprised by the way the mountains blend with rocks and trees. There can be an almost entire rock cliff or coast and then there would just be trees hanging on the side of it. Roots embedded on the rocks with moss covering the ground layer. I do forget about the sheer size of the mountains too, Scotland on steroids I call it.

One day we went hiking (the day I sadly missed an industry talk class, as I immediately lots signal connection the minute we entered the mountains), but it provided really good scale reference of the cliffs, rocks and trees. These I can use later for my Unreal Environments.

The narrative was recorded on my phone and has been sent to my music guy for post processing.
