Learning Grease Pencil in Blender

I started looking at Blenders grease pencil for an option of my film to achieve more stylisation. I found that it was a fun tool to use and nice skill to learn that combines 3d and 2d art.


I learned the basics by watching the first 40mins of this video:


before I decided that I'll figure out the rest myself.

And this was my result:

It took some time to get used to the workflow and how to start drawing at different depths, but I didn’t hate the process. This was also the first time I have used Blender so there was a learning curve.


I could see myself using this for foliage or added 2d effects later in the pipeline after texturing. Obviously, this subject matter doesn’t relate to the film but a good test either way to learn the skill.
